SUTET and the conductor that stretch between tower must be in a proper condition. Periodic maintenance is needed to ensure the condition of the structure of the tower and the conductor. That maintenance could be done way better with 3D model of SUTET. Terrestrial Laser Scanner (TLS) is one of the technologies that can create 3D models. TLS is a terrestrial mapping technology using automatic scanning concept that resulting a set data of points resembling a cloud – that’s why the data is called a point clouds. This research intends to determine the method to create a 3D model of a high voltage transmission tower using TLS and make the 3D model of the tower. The methodology of this research consists of data acquisition and point clouds data processing, which starts from exporting the data, data registration, georeferencing, data filtering, and 3D modeling. 3D modeling in this research made by using TLS data and coordinate of two control points from GPS data acquisition to do georeferencing process. The data processing use MAPTEK and Leica Cyclone software. This research use data from 17 measurement points with 1.1 mm average value of each data Root Mean Square Error (RMSE). The data of six conductor cable from the point clouds is used to measure the strain value of each cables and the result of each cable’s strain value is varies between 2.6169 m to 2.8292 m. 3D model of each SUTET tower and MTR tower pillar is used as a basis to measure verticality of each object. The verticality of each tower and pillar varies between 0.147° to 0.378° heading west-south to south. text
