Description
Summary:The implementation of the kanban system in the automotive industry aims to trigger a production flow that is a pull system which has advantages in terms of cost, time and place efficiency. The quality of implementing the kanban system depends on monitoring the material being processed on each production line. Monitoring of production materials that is still manual and not real-time creates various problems such as improper production planning and also the burden of costs for paper. Regarding this problem, a solution was designed in the form of an automated material monitoring system to optimize the Kanban. One part of this system is material pallet detection. Pallet detection aims to obtain data on pallets such as the type and amount of material carried, time and location of pallets. This subsystem is realized by a reading gate placed on the production line. Inside this gate, there is an RFID Reader which functions to identify the RFID tag on a pallet when it is passed at the gate, an LED which functions to provide notification when a pallet detection occurs, a direction sensor which functions to determine the direction of entry and exit of pallets and also a microcontroller which functions to process reading data and transmit data towards the server. Sending data to the server using the HTTP protocol wirelessly. This data is then stored in a database and will be processed to be displayed on the website dashboard.
