Description
Summary:The West Kalimantan International Seaport, located in Mempawah Regency, West Kalimantan, is a seaport built with the purpose of being the main gate of export and import of goods in Kalimantan Island, especially West Kalimantan Province. The West Kalimantan International Seaport is built because Dwikora Terminal in Pontianak City that is recently become the main gate of export and import of goods in West Kalimantan Province cannot facilitate the large vessels, also the limitation of facilities to serve non-containerized cargo, so that in the future, Dwikora Terminal cannot serve the ever increasing volume of various type of cargo. This causes the design of movement facilities on the sea side and on the land side of the West Kalimantan International Port to be quite influential on the flow of industrial in and out of West Kalimantan. The West Kalimantan International Port will be planned to serve four types of cargo, namely containers, dry bulk cargo, liquid bulk cargo and general cargo. The sea side port movement facility to be designed is the length of the pier for each type of cargo. The land side of the port that will be designed to facilitate the movement and loading and unloading of goods is the container terminal, dry bulk cargo terminal, liquid bulk cargo terminal, and general cargo terminal. The container terminal components to be designed are the container park area, the container freight station, the number and area of loading and unloading equipment parking, the truck buffer area, as well as the number and area of entrance and exit gates. The components of the dry bulk cargo terminal that are designed are the stockpile, the number and area of loading and unloading parking lots, as well as the number and area of entry and exit gates. The components of the liquid bulk cargo terminal that are designed are the storage tank, the number of truck stands and the area of the road tanker stand, as well as the number and area of gates in and out. The components of the general cargo terminal that are designed are the area of the stacking yard and warehouse, the number and area of loading and unloading equipment parking, and the number and area of the entrance and exit gates.
