Summary: | The usage of self-monitoring devices to measure blood glucose, cholesterol, and uric acid is
proven to be beneficial for society. When using self-monitoring devices, user performance
error could lead to inaccuracy in measurements. One of the solutions to reduce the potential
error due to user performance is through education. This study was conducted to evaluate the
impact of self-monitoring devices education on the user's ability in operating the device. Two
main parameters analyzed in this study are the effectivity of the education and the satisfaction
of the participants. This is an analytic observational study conducted concurrently (March-
August 2020) to the posyandu cadres in Situwangi Village, Bandung Barat. Media used in this
education are presentation, user-guide book, and device usage demo. The effectivity rate is
measured by the knowledge and skill aspect. Participant’s satisfaction rate in the service
provided in education is measured by Servqual method using Likert scale. Education is
considered effective since there is a significant difference between pre-test and post-test result
(P = 0,000) and the competency checklist form result before and after education (P = 0,000).
Cadres satisfaction towards the education service is high marked with the Servqual score is
positive in all attributes.
