Summary: | Animation becomes a preventative medium that involves all senses to convey material so that messages can be better understood. Ku Jaga Diriku Animation, Aku Anak Berani Animation, Kisah Si Aksa, and Kisah Si Geni Animations are the objects of this research based on the criteria for the same information content and produced in Indonesia between 2014-2017. This study aims to analyze the structure of visual storytelling and explain how to convey information in animation to prevent child sexual abuse. This research method used descriptive qualitative with data analysis using Bahasa Rupa Theory by Primadi Tabrani and Visual storytelling by Caputo including clarity, realism, dynamism, and continuity. The principle of the animation above can be realized through the contents of the wimba, the way of the wimba, TUD dan TUL of the Primadi Tabrani's theory. The results showed that the visual storytelling structure related to film principles in 4 animations was built through visualization of wimba such as characters, other properties and identification of space/ background with TUD and TUL which could explain sensitive information related to body parts that other people can and should not touch along with examples of sexual abuse acts and responses that are obvious depicted, trustworthy, relevant to the audience and appropriate to the context without being vulgar. Wimba stylized from real objects through attractive cartoon depictions can provide a clear picture for audiences aged 6 to 8 years. TUD with the dominance of medium-long shot provides an overview to the audience as a whole in one shot, both wimba, and spatial identification, while close-up can emphasize important wimba expressions or accents which are clarified through voice over with clear voice, polite language. Important information in animation with dominance TUD in the middle or right in a distinctive way of visual language so that the audience can focus their eyes and be emotionally involved. Visualizations of private body parts and examples of acts of sexual abuse that are a concern for parents are conveyed in the animation without being vulgar. Private body parts are shown through the motion with wimba that dress modestly appearing from head to toe. Examples of sexual abuse acts that lead to vulgar impressions such as naked wimba can be minimized with a cross sign, strangers wimba that kissing children with gestures and expressions without direct touch interaction with children, and wimba strangers showing private parts with TUD wimba characters turning their backs on the audience. The impression of animated motion is realized through TUD and TUL with limited motion over stop motion and optimized periodic motion. Transitions between shots and image sequences in animation are important so that information can be processed properly by children aged 6-8 years so that
the transition between shots must be precise and not too fast. The whole field and the identification of space in the animation can provide an alert image to the audience which is consistently shown with the same visualization and can be trusted to be used as an experience. |
