Local economic development is a process that tries to formulate development institutions in the regions, increase the capacity of human resources to create better products and foster industry and business activities on a local scale. Then according to the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, Small and Medium Industry is one of the sectors that drive the national economy based on a people. This is because IKM players open up employment opportunities for the surrounding community and closely related to culture-based industries and a form of cultural preservation. However, there are several problems in the development of IKM in Indonesia, namely one of the problems commonly faced by small and medium entrepreneurs is the difficulty in marketing. As in the case of the pottery industry in Sitiwinangun Village, Cirebon Regency, whose development is currently declining due to marketing difficulties so that the sales rate of pottery has decreased since there were similar products made of plastic. So that with the existence of regional autonomy in Indonesia, the role of the local government in developing its local economic potential becomes important. In local economic development the role of government can include the roles of entrepreneurs (entrepreneurs), coordinators, facilitators, and stimulators. Therefore, this study aims to determine the roles that have been carried out and need to be improved by the local government in developing the economy of the community, in this case the Sitiwinangun Village Government in developing the pottery industry in Sitiwinangun Village as a case study. This research will use primary data collection methods with interviews and observations and secondary with literature review, RPJMDes and academic documents. The analytical method used is content analysis with pattern matching techniques. This study found that the Sitiwinangun Village Government has tried to carry out its role which includes the role of entrepreneur, coordinator, facilitator and stimulator to the maximum extent possible in developing its local economic activities, namely the pottery industry. Although there are still several roles in certain indicators that have not been carried out by the Sitiwinangun Village Government.
