It stems from a number of different factors ranging from socio-economic background, government policies and even politics. The lack of accessibility to formal education has further pushed these children away from the mainstream education system and caused them to turn to non formal schools run by non-profit organisations. Although it has been an acceptable way to cater to these target groups so far, a rising number of private organisations opening up learning centres of their own has caused a decentralised approach that focuses more on personal gain rather than the wellbeing of the children. Apart from that, these vulnerable groups require a different approach to learning, as most of them are unfamiliar with the conventional schooling system. The study therefore aims to propose a more systematic approach in dealing with the issue by introducing the concept of modern learning environment. The objective of this study does not only cover the wellbeing of the children, but also analyses the quality of existing street schools and how it can potentially impact the surrounding neighbourhood on a larger scale. text
