Coconut is a plant that has many benefits and is often used in Indonesia. Coconut is very easy to find in Indonesia because this plant is spread almost in all parts of this country. Indonesia is one of the largest coconut producing countries in the world along with India and the Philippines, but the large amount of Indonesian coconut production is not in line with the amount of coconut fiber products. Coconut coir is a part of coconut fruit which becomes waste, usually disposed of and burned in Indonesia, but actually this material has a high value if it can be utilized properly. Coconut coir has elastic characteristics, manage to hold water and is able to absorb sound, this material is also one of the materials that are rarely used in Indonesia as the main material of product. With its abundant amount and unique characteristics, coconut fiber has the potential to become a substitute material or alternative material for product. For this reason, development and exploration of this material is carried out to maximize its use, based on physical and mechanical characteristics and characteristics of coconut fiber.
