Description
Summary:This study will explain the extent of the impact of security perceptions on people encouragement in using park. Public perception of security becomes an important benchmark for users to know the response and experience of the park. Security is the most important benchmark for users to visit a park, because it will determine the level of their frequency in using the park. Security perception is a representation of security, free from threats, dangers and fears from individuals in the form of selfprotection both from experiences that occurred in the past and in the form of motivation, desires, hopes and responses to something. The problem in this study is that knowledge has not been obtained regarding the extent of the impact of security perceptions related to the characteristics and behavior of users (sociodemographic and personal psychological aspects) to the people encouragement in using park. Therefore, in understanding the extent of the impact of security perceptions on people encouragement in using park also need to be considered factors that have the potential to impact the formation of these perceptions. This study aims to explain the extent of the impact of security perceptions related to the characteristics and behavior of park users (socio-demographic and personal psychological aspects) to the people encouragement in using park. This study is important to fill the theoretical emptiness in particular the influence of security perceptions related to the characteristics and behavior of park users (personal socio-demographic and psychological aspects) to the people encouragement in using park. This study uses quantitative explanatory methods that aim to explain the extent to which security perceptions impact to the people encouragement in using park. This research was conducted through surveys, observations and secondary data collection in the form of map, profiles of urban villages and subdistricts, through related agencies. The data collection method in this study was carried out by direct surveys to homes using a sample unit of households that are people who live in the village of Sadang Serang and have visited the park to obtain data from filling out the questionnaire. In the observation process carried out in this study the pattern of visitor intensity in the park was carried out by observing the pattern of time of the people visit which was assumed to be able to generalize the visit in the next time. Quantitative data processing in this study was conducted by 2 methods, namely descriptive methods and verification methods. Descriptive method in this study was carried out based on the unit analysis unit of the Citizensiv (RW) which aims to provide a comparison of the initial results of the questionnaire that has been collected. Verification / inferential method is a statistical technique that functions to test the proposed hypothesis. For this study, the influence of security perceptions related to the socio-demographic and personal psychological aspects of the people encouragement in using park through multiple linear regression analysis techniques (multiple linear regression) using parametric inferential statistics with the help of SPSS software. Multiple linear regression analysis is an analysis used to be able to explain the extent of the influence of security perceptions related to the characteristics and behavior of park users (socio-demographic and personal psychological aspects) to the increase or decrease of the people encouragement in using park). Based on the results of this study indicate that security perceptions impact the frequency of people encouragement in using park related to personal psychological aspects of park users by 9.42% and socio demographic aspects by 2.41%. Overall, both aspects contributed 11.83% to the frequency of encouragement of people using park. While the aspect of security perception that impact the duration of people encouragement in using park is given by the personal psychological aspect of 7.95% while the socio-demographic aspect does not contribute to variables that have a significant effect. Overall, these two aspects contributed a impact of 7.95% to the duration of of people encouragement in using park of people encouragement in using park. It is only the aspect of the existence of "undesireable people" whose existence decreases the community's urge to use the park, as does the "undisruptive behavior" in the park (theft, robbery, accident). The results of this study reflect that security perceptions related to the characteristics and behavior of park users (personal aspects of socio-demographic and psychological) have an impact on of people encouragement in using park (frequency and duration) although their significance is low. It also explains that the process of spatial interpretation through security perceptions is a component that can give impact to actions in the form of community encouragement to use parks. The existence of security perception as an approach in this study can provide important input related to the planning and design of parks that are integrated and in accordance with the needs of the people encouragement in using park.
