Cikarang Industrial Area is currently the biggest industrial city in South East Asia. The problem of the industrial area lies from the commodity line, either into or coming from Cikarang, is only going through Tanjung Priok Port in Jakarta. The solution of this problem initiated by PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia II (PT. Pelindo II, also called IPC) through Cikarang Bekasi Laut (CBL) Terminal and Inland Waterways Project. Commodities packaged in containers will be transported by barge through the CBL Inland Waterway into the CBL Terminal, and then transported by truck directly to Cikarang Industrial Area via Cibitung-Cilincing Toll Road. In this undergraduate thesis, will be designed the deck on pile berthing structure of CBL Terminal that will serve commodities packed in containers. The berthing structure will be able to accomodate inland vessels with a capacity of 96 TEU. Design process will be done by collectiong environmental and operational data to determine the applied forces on the structure, the major dimension and also the minor structural elements’ dimension of the berthing structure. The next design process will be structural analysis and modelling with the help of SAP 2000 software, so the designed structure will be able to bear the applied forces. Structural analysis and modelling will generate outputs such as unity check ratio (UCR), deflection, internal forces, and support reactions. The structure will be optimized until the UCR value is between 0.7 to 1.0, and still fulfill allowable deflection. After the structure has been optimized, the internal forces generated from the modelling process will be used as input for structural reinforcement design, while the support reactions output will be used as input for analysis of soil bearing capacity. text
