| Summary: | During the last two decades, tourism has become a major activity in most societies and
became an important sector in economic development. However, there is a lot of empirical
evidence that shows the negative effects of tourism, especially on the surrounding
environment. The development of tourism in Lembang District, are often seen by its positive
impacts such as the recognition of Lembang District and the number of tourists visiting
Lembang District, but the other side of this tourism also needs to be considered, namely
the impacts on people who lives in the tourism areas. This research are conducted to see
the impact of one of the tourist destinations in Lembang District, which has a high tourist
attraction and is located very close to the city of Bandung and is located between
residential areas where the impact of its existence is very significant on the surrounding
community. This study aims to identify what the impacts of tourism are. arising from the
existence of Dago Dreampark Tourism Destination to the surrounding community as seen
from the economic, social and environmental aspects. This research uses descriptive
analysis method, content analysis and association statistical analysis. The findings of the
tourism impact study generated by Dago Dreampark concluded that, the positive impact of
Dago Dreampark on the surrounding community was the opening of job and business
opportunities as well as an increase in local government revenue. Meanwhile, the negative
impact of Dago Dreampark on the surrounding area is the emergence of traffic congetion
that cause road damage, disruption of comfort and community activities as well as the
emergence of noise pollution, air pollution and scattered garbage. |
