The greatest composition of waste in Indonesia is organic waste which has high moisture content. Biodrying become one of solutions for waste handling which is Mechanical Biological Treatment technology that can decrease moisture content depends on microorganism activity and increase calorific value so can produced Refuse Derive Fuel (RDF). On this reaseach, biodrying can do drying and pretreatment Refuse Derived Fuel from traditional market. Market is one of commercial location that frequently visit by community and there is no further utilized for the waste. Simpang Dago Traditional Market become research location to get waste composition data by sampling based on SNI M-36-1991-2003 for eight days. This data become basic data for composition waste in biodrying reactor. Next step is doing biodrying process in laboratorium scale by active aerated with adding bioactivator. On this step is to determine adding bioactivator or EM4 during the process. The research purposes are to determine the composition of the waste, analyse characteristics of biodrying product, and kinetics analysis of each variation. Based on sampling data, the waste composition of Pasar Simpang Dago is 78% w/w organic waste, 18% w/w plastic waste, and 4% w/w paper waste. Based on the research, it shows that there is effect for adding EM4 bioactivator to the biodrying process. Optimum time based on this research is 20 days. text |
