Helmholtz free energy equations of state with departure function use density and temperature as independent variable. In practical uses, density and temperature are not always known, therefore a method to determine density and temperature value is required. Helmholtz free energy equations of state with departure function use the pure Helmholtz equation of state with mole fraction, added to departure function which can be generalized or specific for binary couple. Thermodynamic properties are then calculated from the Helmholtz equation of state and its derivative. Method for determining density and temperature of mixture use iterative method and 2 other known variables. Two phase equilibria are calculated using successive substitution method. Software for demonstrating Helmholtz free energy equation of state for mixture are developed and can be used for single phase calculation for two component binary mixture. The optimal iterative for determining the density and temperature are Secant method which able to perform calculations with relative errors up to ???? ???? ???????????????????? in under 1 seconds. text |
