| Summary: | The emergence of environmental problems and demographic cases as the effect of
land transfer function in infrastructure development is an interesting issue to be
transferred into an artwork. Though, this phenomenon can not be judged as a wrong
or a right case yet. In writer's opinion, an artwork is a way to communicate some
ideas. Thus, after observing the enviromental situation, the writer tries to
communicate the whole interpretation and experiences into an artwork. The problem
in this work is formulated as how the environmental issues as the effect of
infrastructure development and demographic cases becomes an interesting idea in
artwork.
The theme of this work was "Buka Tirai Tampak Dinding." The writer hoped this
theme could build people awareness to help them realized some environmental
problems that have been occuring arround them. The emergence of an artwork was
basically a personal experiment to verify a hypothesis to get a new justification. The
logic of imagination while interpreting an artwork, experience, and logical thought,
took an important role to get logical meaning.
Then, to reveal the narration of the environmental issue, the writer has done material
exploration by mixing two media that are mix media and ready made object. In doing
this work, the writer used contemporary fine art theory,dadaism, and medium theory
as the basic. There is not any limitation while expressing ideas in contemporary fine
art. Thus, the writer combined two dimentional art and some finding objects to be an
integrity artwork.
This artwork gives a reflection for the art appreciator. When an art appreciator sees
a wall in daily life, there is not any tendency at all. Because of that,the writer offers a
way to interpret a wall while a window is opened. Besides, this work can give critical
offering as provide a space for audience to participate and play horizontal blind
based on its real function.
