One of them is waste, which is a factor that can damage the environment because cloth takes 20-50 years to decompose. There are several ways to reduce clothing production waste, one of which is the zero waste production concept that designs and places patterns on fabrics effectively. Based on the concept of Zero Waste, in this research the writer will design a clothing with ulos material that can give different looks. Ulos is a traditional handicraft made by the Batak people whose motifs are developed as well as clothing that gives a different appearance. The technique used is zero waste pattern cutting which designs the pattern on the mannequin directly in order to get a design that does not leave waste and is then made in the form of a flat pattern. The main concept is to maximize the sheet of ulos cloth to create clothing so as to minimize the amount of production waste text |
