The disposable nature of syringes causes a high market demand. To meet the need for syringes, a device is needed so that it can be used to mass produce syringes according to the predetermined specifications. The tools that can be used are jigs and fixtures. Jigs and fixtures help to simplify and speed up the syringe sharpening process. Currently, there is a jig and fixture that has been designed and manufactured, but there are still some problems in the process of clamping and rolling of the syringes so that the results of the grinding process of syringe were not optimal. One possible cause of this problem is the surface roughness of the jig and fixture. In this study, modeling and simulation were carried out for the clamping and rolling of syringes to find out the effect of the surface roughness on the rolling process. The surface roughness which was used as a parameter is the Ra value of the surface roughness. After modeling and simulation were carried out, the results obtained from the simulation were compared and analyzed, and the slip values that occur were calculated for each level of surface roughness. The results of the simulation show that the surface roughness affects the rolling process of the syringes, resulting in increased slip on a rougher surface. Apart from the surface roughness, the syringe diameter under study also affects the syringes rolling process. The smaller the syringe diameter, the greater the slip that occurs during the rolling process. However, the final angle of the syringe geometry resulting from the simulation of the rolling process still falls within its tolerance limits. text
