DESIGN OF CONCRETE SPECIMENS WITH A LOAD OF FLY ASH MIXTURE TO DETERMINE CHLORIDE CONCENTRATION USING STEADY STATE MIGRATION TEST

One of the causes of corrosion of reinforcement is sea water, which contains chloride. This chloride penetrates into the concrete until it hits the reinforcement. This is what causes damage to the concrete. This research was conducted to examine a problem regarding how the effect of concrete loading...

This chloride penetrates into the concrete until it hits the reinforcement. This is what causes damage to the concrete. This research was conducted to examine a problem regarding how the effect of concrete loading on chloride concentration, where the concrete is made with a mixture of fly ash. The research began with making research samples. The stages of making the sample consist of preparing the tools and materials, determining the parameters of the concrete material, determining the planning variables, implementing the concrete mixture, treating (curing) and capping the concrete, and checking the crush strength of the concrete. After that, the steady state migration test was carried out. This method is used to obtain the chloride concentration of each concrete and its analysis. Based on the steady state migration test, it was found that K400 concrete with loading had the highest chloride concentration value when compared to concrete with other compositions, either without loading or under loading. This is because without the fly ash mixture, it is difficult for concrete to resist chloride attack. Whereas in terms of loading, the concrete with loading has a higher chloride concentration value when compared to concrete without loading, because the loading creates gaps that allow chloride to penetrate more easily. text
