Description
Summary:The Catenary Pottery Printer concept created by Great Things to People can also be called the casting technique on fabric. By using a simple method in the form of a cloth attached to a wooden frame as a porcelain casting mold, an alternative to the manual parametric design 3D printer was created. Utilizing the weight of the material and the force of gravity, the casting results with the same casting tool will have their variations from one module to another so that each work arrangement will be unique. This study seeks to better understand the Catenary Pottery Printer technically and theoretically, due to the lack of written information and data about the new method. The author hopes that it can provide innovation for material processing and can be applied to create a separate modular work in the use of stoneware materials. This research was carried out through the exploration stages of materials, techniques, and forms, which produced ten vessels with thin characteristics.
