IMPLEMENTATION OF MODIFICATION EQUATION OF OIL ACQUISITION WITH CO2 INJECTION IN THE PROPOSED ECONOMIC EVALUATION OF SOME FIELD INTEGRATED CO2 INJECTION SCENARIOS: CASE STUDY IN BLOCK X, SUMATERA
There have been many studies in reservoir performance equations, including CO2 injection. One of the equations for predicting oil production by CO2 injection is the United State Department of Energy (U.S DoE) equation. The revision of the equation has been carried out by Lewins et al., 1982 based on...

INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/52106 There have been many studies in reservoir performance equations, including CO2 injection. One of the equations for predicting oil production by CO2 injection is the United State Department of Energy (U.S DoE) equation. The revision of the equation has been carried out by Lewins et al., 1982 based on several field tests in America. The U.S DoE equation for CO2 injection performance is a semi-analytic equation taking into account the fluid and reservoir parameters. This study aims to increase the accuracy of the results of the U.S DoE equation by using literature data from 1989 to 2016 by modifying the equation, then implementing the modification equation in selected fields in Indonesia, precisely in the central part of Sumatra Island. Adjustments were made to the U.S DoE equation in this study by modifying the coefficient (-5.4). The method used in this study to modify the coefficients in the U.S DoE equation is orthogonal projection, then perform an economic evaluation as one of the parameters for the success of this study using the PSC Cost Recovery scheme. This study also proposes a CO2 gas transportation scheme that is integrated into oil fields in the central part of Sumatra Island. The results of this study show that the application of the modified U.S DoE equation in selected fields on the island of Sumatra has a cumulative incremental oil of 875.01 MMSTB, and the proposed integrated CO2 gas transportation scheme produces 2 pipe patterns, namely: main pipe and tie in pipe. The economic evaluation is carried out to see the NPV and IRR values, the result is that the NPV in the base case has a negative value and the IRR is carried by the discount factor, then an economic evaluation is carried out per field which results in a fluctuating NPV value, the analysis carried out in this study is the negative contractor NPV value. the first occurred in the X-4 field, although there was an increase in incremental oil in the field, it could not cover the costs that had been incurred. In the base case condition, a sensitivity analysis was carried out and there were several important points, namely a decrease in CAPEX costs by 20%, then OPEX costs down by 40%, an increase in oil production by 20%, and an increase in oil prices by 10%. text |
