Description
Summary:Lava is one of the volcanic rocks which has great potential in recording the process of magmatism. In this study, the integration of rock magnetization methods, magnetic remanence saturation, petrography, and geochemistry was carried out. The lava samples used in the characterization were the Batur Volcano products. In this study, we used frequency-based magnetic susceptibility measurement. Also, geochemical analysis with X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and Petrography. From the measurement results, the data is processed in such a way that later interpretation can be done to understand the petrogenesa and magnetic characteristics of each lava product to understand the process of magmatism and the evolution of magma that occurs at Batur Volcano. It was found that all the lava formed was caused by volcanism due to subduction but had a different volcanic process, namely the presence or absence of magma mixing. Then the minerals that are formed during the freezing process on the surface can cause differences in mineral size and the abundance of magnetic minerals, in this case, SP minerals.
