</i><b>Abstract: <i></b><p align="justify"> PT Petrokimia Gresik started commercial operation in 1977 with fertilizer as its core business. The company began its business in the regulated era of fertilizer trade in which the production, price and distribution of fertilizer was fully controlled by the government. In 2001, the government freed the control and since then the fertilizer business has entered the era of free trade competition.<p align="justify"> In order to be competitive while facing the above condition, PT Petrokimia Gresik should immediately prepare a reliable distribution system by which it could guarantee the continuity of fertilizer supply to its upmost consumers - the food crop and holticulture farmers - whose contribution reaches more or less 80% of the total sale of fertilizer produced by PT Petrokimia Gresik.<p align="justify"> In connection with the above matter, the writer has tried to propose a design of distribution system and its implementation after considering the existing distribution system applied by the company, benchmarking the distribution system of PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk, studying textbooks on distribution system and accomodating the request of the management of PT Petrokimia Gresik.</p>
