Description
Summary:Manufacture industry is required to be flexible and efficient to gain a competitive advantage. There are several ways to be flexible and efficient, one of them is to adopt the Industry 4.0 concept. However, the concept of Industry 4.0 is difficult to apply to traditional manufacturing industries that operate in smaller production sizes and at the stage of the Second Industrial Revolution. Modification of the Industry 4.0 concept is required to match the factory operational conditions. The Configurable Virtual Workstation (CVWS) concept has been proposed as a more suitable implementation of the Industry 4.0 concept without applying industrial automation. Considering that the concept of CVWS consists of two steps, namely a monitoring system and a control system, its implementation will be easier through a step-by-step process. This research activity is focused on the second step of implementing the CVWS concept: the control system, especially in controlling the operating schedule. The process of scheduling operations is carried out by giving autonomy to production elements, distributing scheduling tasks to production elements, and coordinating the results of scheduling decisions according to the characteristics of the concept of an Autonomous Distributed Manufacturing Systems (ADiMS).
