In consequence of labor intensive characteristic of their jobs, contractor companies need to pay attention on their human resources as determining factors of company performance. Job satisfaction is connected to employee performance and problems that might be emerge, so it is important for the construction companies to consider this subject. <br />
<p align=\"justify\"> <br />
The objective of this research is to identify and to analyze factors which determine job satisfaction on each level of management. This research is conducted through a survey involving 8 contractor companies. <br />
<p align=\"justify\"> <br />
The result showed that elements on job characteristic, reward, relationship with supervisor, relationship with colleague, and fulfillment of higher order needs influence job satisfaction, in different condition for each management level. <br />
<p align=\"justify\"> <br />
For permanent and part time employee, factors that affect job satisfaction are: job significance, autonomy, rewards (bonus, allowance, safety program, facilities, and responsibility), attention from supervisor, teamwork and assistance from colleague, job security, work success and company\'s success. On permanent employee, other factors are : skill variety, feedback, pension program, separation pay, leave facility, career and training. <br />
<p align=\"justify\"> <br />
Both head office and project staff consider skill variety, task significance, autonomy, rewards (bonus, facility, career, training), technical assistance from supervisor, job security, welfare, and company\'s success as factors that affect job satisfaction. For head office staff other factors are : allowance, safety program, pension program, separation pay, and responsibility. <br />
<p align=\"justify\"> <br />
Based on level of satisfaction, all the contractor management level showed `high satisfaction\' on : job characteristics, relationship with supervisor, relationship with colleague, and higher order needs. Part time employee and project staff showed `low satisfaction\' on reward variable, where permanent employee and head office staff showed `high satisfaction\'. <br />
