<b></i>Abstract : </b><i><p align=\"justify\"> <br /> The purpose of this study was to know the effects of sedimentation at an estuary on marine natural resource, human resource, and its alternative treatments. <br /> <p align=\"justify\"> <br /> Cilauteureun estuary is located in Cikelet Sub-district, Garut District, on southern coastline of Java Island. There is Cilauteureun fishery port there. <br /> <p align=\"justify\"> <br /> Cikelet Sub-district has 16 km coastline and has abundant marine natural resource potentials, as well as human resource. In 2001, Garet District\'s Fishery Service could realize only 15 percent of the target of marine resource exploitation, resulting from the lack of fishery traffic because there occurred sedimentation that caused estuary constriction. <br /> <p align=\"justify\"> <br /> During tidal any motor boat could not make its way to dock and it caused the decreasing number of motor boat, so that human resource potentials could not be utilized optimally. <br /> <p align=\"justify\"> <br /> The sedimentation resulting in constriction at the estuary was caused by sediment from sea long-shore current transported. To overcame the problem of sedimentation at the estuary, dredging 29.063 m3 and elongating jetty 132 m until -4 m SWL (Still Water Level) in dept has to be conducted. <br /> <p align=\"justify\"> <br /> Both dredging and jetty elongation would alleviate sedimentation problem at Cilauteureun estuary. <br /> <br />
