DESIGN AND TESTING OF MANUAL FOLDING MACHINE MONITORING SYSTEMS
In this research, a manual folding machine activity monitoring system is designed and tested. The system is developed to be able to record machine operation activity, process and manipulate data as well as display information needed. The monitoring system is an implementation of the first-level Cybe...

It could lead to inefficient and ineffective production process which cause several problems such as material delays, material overstock, non-optimal resource utilization and production delays. The recent study has developed a framework to transform the conventional industry into the fourth generation industry by applying Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) concept in Indonesian manufacturing industry. The idea of the concept is creating a virtual system as a representation of production element physical system. The virtual system consist of monitoring and controlling device which constantly send and receives data obtained from the physical system. This study aimed to build a system that could monitor manual folding machine production activities. The system comprises a controller which actively collects operation data, a database which stores the data obtained by controller, and a web application that manipulates data into useful information. The information produced on this study are order completion progress in a workstation and overall order completion in a manufacturing plant. text |

The manufacturing industry in Indonesia nowadays is still relying on the use of conventional machines and equipments. The main problem addressed to the labour-intensive industry is the high risk of unsmooth or even blocked information flows. It could lead to inefficient and ineffective production process which cause several problems such as material delays, material overstock, non-optimal resource utilization and production delays.
