Description
Summary:Shear walls are rigid structural components designed to accept a large part of the lateral loads or earthquake loads on the building. A small error in calculating the forces on the shear walls will make large error in the calculation of frame forces. Some software package programs that can be used to perform structural calculations are ETABS, SAP2000 and Midas Gen. However, in the calculation process, these software programs do not provide detailed explanations of the analysis and assumptions made, such as the relationship between frames and shear walls. The research models used are 4 and 20 story shear wall and frame structures. The analyses were carried out regarding the differences in the amount of horizontal deformations, beam moments, column moments and column shear forces obtained using Muto calculation method, and analysis by ETABS, SAP2000 and Midas Gen software on 2D and 3D models that are affected by meshing and the number of floors. In this research the model with 4x4 size meshing is the most effective and efficient to use. The higher is the building height, the larger are the differences in horizontal deformations, beam moments, column moments and column shear forces.
