They still maintain their local traditional characteristics. The Kajang people in principle and belief value the forest as something sacred that must be protected and respected because the forest plays an important role in their lives. Over time the phenomenon of modernization also occurs and has an influence on the lifestyle and behavior of the people. As a result, some parts of the vernacular community habitations of the Kajang Tribe began to experience a decline in quality both physically and non-physically. Respond to these changes, either programmed or not, people of the Kajang Dalam tribe also responded to these conditions for the sustainability of their habitation. The habitation and living culture of the Kajang Dalam tribe are divided into two areas, namely the ilalang embayya (Kajang Dalam) and the ipantarang embayya (Kajang Luar). Ilalang embayya is a closed customary area where the system of life is still bound by customary laws, rules and sanctions. Meanwhile, Ipantarang Embayya is a residential area that is open and relatively modern. Some steps taken by the Kajang Dalam tribe are began to isolate themselves from the outside world, improve customary rules, laws and sanctions anda sanctification place so that damage does not occur. This study was conducted to reveal the strategies adopted by the community in the Kajang Dalam tribe to respond to this modernization. The research approach is carried out using qualitative research (field research). Studies related to conservation strategies like this need to be done to undesrtand anticipatory steps to keep and mantain local wisdom that still exists. text |
