ACTIVATION SYSTEM FOR BRIDGE STRUCTURAL HEALTH MONITORING SYSTEM

Bridge health inspections in Indonesia are still done manually, which makes bridges with a low level of structural health not monitored until the next inspection. As a result, bridges that are prone to collapse are not detected and can result in casualties, if at any time the bridge collapses. It...

As a result, bridges that are prone to collapse are not detected and can result in casualties, if at any time the bridge collapses. It is believed that the development of a bridge structural health monitoring system (SHMS) can solve this problem by providing regular and historical bridge health monitoring data. To determine the rating, the system only needs bridge vibration data when a vehicle with three or more axle crosses the bridge. Therefore, an activation system is needed to determine the conditions for calculating the rating of the bridge structural health. The experiment result shows that the activation system can be conducted based on the number of vehicle axles. text
