INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/52948 The need for affordable housing is a solution for urban communities, given the population growth of the generation that has entered the productive age in Indonesia. The type of landed house is still the ideal choice for people to live in urban areas, because it has relatively cheaper maintenance costs than vertical housing (flats or apartments). Among these groups of people, their existence is starting to take into account alternative and affordable housing, given the problems of settlements regarding high property prices, limited land and locations far from the city center. This affects the need for residential design with the concept of a compact house, and influences each individual to behave with the concept of compact living. The position of the research is based on previous research on the existence of tiny houses in Western countries, the phenomenon of minimalist behavior in the world and the influence of compact and minimalist behavior in Indonesia. The existence of efforts and adaptation processes carried out for people of age in fulfilling housing needs to accommodate daily activities in the house. The theory used for environmental applications is related to the principles and thoughts of minimalist behavior, interior elements, the form and arrangement of spatial arrangements, environmental approaches and architecture and behavior. The concept of compact living was applied in the Reduhouse residential concept which was first introduced by the principal architect of SPOA, Rahmat Indrani. The design of habitable dwellings will affect the quality of life of its inhabitants, especially with the high mobility needs and the diversity of hobbies of these community groups. The influence of compact house architecture on the minimalist behavior of its residents is implied in the physical condition of the Reduhouse residence after being occupant for some time. Minimalist behavior is the process of interacting each individual's system of activities and the system of settings (rooms) in the Reduhouse. The research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach to interpret this phenomenon. The application of environmental architecture and behavior in the post-year evaluation is indicative, this is done to obtain facts in the field regarding the adaptation process carried out by residents. Data were collected through 4 evaluation of secondary data (working drawings of Reduhouse), interviews with SPOA principal architects and residents of the house, and evaluation of walkthroughs during the observation of the three selected Reduhouse. The postoccupancy evaluation process is carried out to identify functional aspects (zoning, organization, circulation, facilities, flexibilities and room changes), technical aspects (space, furniture and arrangement), and behavioral aspects (privacy and occupant interactions, building understanding and design). The purpose of this research is to identify the effect of the concept of occupancy on the minimalist behavior of residents and to see the effect of occupant activities on the interior conditions of the house. The results of this study are in the form of a table that contains the criteria that meet the requirements for changes in the physical conditions of the interior, as well as an explanation of the findings of significant differences in each house. The benefits of post-annual evaluation of the Reduhouse are carried out to convey the challenges that appear to the respondents of each house and provide an indication of failure and design attitudes for architects as consideration for future Reduhouse housing development. text
