ANALYSIS OF THE IMPACT OF LANDUSE ON PARTICULATE (PM1,0, PM2,5, PM10) SPATIAL VARIATION IN THE PROVINCE OF DKI JAKARTA

Air pollution is currently a concern in developing countries particularly for the effect on human health. One type of pollutant that becomes a parameter of air quality is particulate matter. Based on the particle diameter, the particles are grouped into PM1,0, PM2,5, and PM10. Air pollution origina...

Air pollution originating from anthropogenic activities is increasing in line with the growth in industrial and transportation sectors. DKI Jakarta Province, which is the center of civilization in Indonesia, has a very strong appeal so that its population continues to grow. The increase in population is not only due to the number of births, but also due to urbanization. Air pollution that occurs at the scale of the metropolitan city in DKI Jakarta is of great concern, both from environmental and health aspects. Exposure of particles comse from a variety of sources, including land use.. This research is part of the Urban HybriD Model for AiR Pollution Exposure Assessment (UDARA), which has a purpose to measure the concentration of air pollutants in DKI Jakarta with low cost monitoring. Monitoring was carried out at 26 points, spread across DKI Jakarta, simultaneously. These data were used to investigate the influence of land use on particulates concentrations. Based on information about the existence of land use to the distribution of particulates, in this study the Thiessen Polygon modeling method is combined with the grid land use of DKI Jakarta. The proportion of area of each polygon will be tested by its correlation with particulates concentration. The results of the statistical tests show that land use has a positive correlation, while vegetated land use areas and bodies have a negative correlation. Furthermore, a significance test was also carried out using the p-value, which indicates that there is a significant value in the built-in landuse and water bodies. These results indicate that landuse can be a predictor variable on the distribution of particulates, although the relationship is not very strong. text
