IMPLEMENTATION MINING EYES TECHNOLOGY FOR OPERATIONAL EFECTIVENESS BINUNGAN MINE OPERATION TWO PT BERAU COAL, EAST KALIMANTAN

PT Berau Coal is a mining company holding contract concession at Berau Tanjung Redeb, East Kalimantan, Indonesia, PT Berau Coal in his operation has three large mine site: Binungan, Lati and Sambarata, each site were operated by national mining contractors using conventional shovel and truck method. Business process of mining operation literally have been identified and analyze for every potential hazards and risk that need to be control, mine supervisory function is part of whole activity in the field to guarantee save and productive operation. In 2018 - 2019 along with the recovery process for major disaster safety incident in 2017, there was a significant increase in the number of supervisors foreman level at PT Berau Coal and its contractors at 16% for block 7 Binungan mine operation two. The amount of additional supervision basically derived from several recommendations in incident investigations which are expected to improve operations. however the addition of the foreman supervisor does not appear to be a viable solution. Ironically in 2019 safety performance has not been able to reduce the Accident frequency rate compare to the previous year (1.8 from 1.6). Other than that more worrying is the occurrence of incident fatality impacting a foreman supervisors it self at Lati mine site. In terms of production there has been loss in productivity about 1.2% and increasing of fuel ratio consume at 0.03 liter/bcm compare previous year. Mining eyes technology is a digital concept supervising using technology camera CCTV integrated in control room and intervention process. CCTV equipped in the advantage of a camera that able to cover all mining activities within level of observation similar even more than direct supervision in the field (Zooming >3KM). Mining eyes expected to improve effective supervising method and to be a breakthrough in managing the behavior of operators and supervisors so that they become more disciplined and aware of them self due to feeling always monitor and supervised. The intervention process that involves the safety and production departments is a main board in this concept, this function has an objective to establish disciplinarian by enforcing sanctioned for violations thus not becoming repetition and continuously become a culture. The use of this Mining eyes technology also expected to be a control and trigger in the managing of operational improvements that have been felt more clashing by safety and risk aspect. Improvement ready to reverse, a maximum speed of 50km per hour and sterilization of mining areas become an examples of bundling the use of mining eyes that having potentially for efficiency and high production impact. Ratio supervisory will be able to manage ideally and the position of supervisory will be kept out of line of fire more comfort not exposure to the sun burn.
