Appropriate inventory control methods and in accordance with the type of company and inventory conditions make business processes more effective and efficient, it will increase the company’s profits, In this research on PT. GMS Group, using secondary data obtained by interviewing employees from Logistic Division, Operational and Production Division, and Project Tender Preparation Officer, about Hot Mix production activities, and current logistic system in the company, the writer cannot do an internship, or does not get direct access to the company because of the Covid-19 pandemic. The author combines data obtained from the company, and additional information from the results of interviewing several PT.GMS Group employees, with theories that have been studied during lectures at MBA-ITB Bandung about inventory control, forecasting, and information management systems. All data is processed by calculations and analysis to design a proposed solution that is applicable and in accordance with the conditions of the problems faced by the company. The company has problems the absence of a clear and integrated inventory management system, which often results inventory running out, causing costs, work periods, and resources used in the project become higher. Based on these problems, the authors propose a computer-based inventory management system (GAMIS), integrated with other work units that use company inventory data, using some calculation methods (EOQ, EPQ, Discount Quantity) for each type of material. The new system makes the information about the condition of inventory can be known in real time and accurate, so that considerations in making decisions are effective, fast, and precise. This system also expected to improve efficiency of resources, time and costs, thereby increasing the company's chances of winning in the project tender process. The proposed solutions of the authors are complemented by an implementation timeline and a description, to guide implementation by the company. text |
