Description
Summary:“Slamet Muda” is located in the eastern of Slamet volcano, consists of lava and pyroclastic deposits as source of soil formation at Baturaden and Purbalingga. The relationship between soil layers of soil characteristics and soil genesis through physical, chemical and mineralogical analysis are very interesting case because general investigation focuses on the surface layer of soil, even though, the potential of the lower layer is still open for researching to find out soil potential for plants in Baturaden and Purbalingga. Baturaden consists of four layers of soil and uses the soil micromorphology method for soil texture and structur identification. The soil of each layer was analyzed by physical, chemical and mineral methods (petrography and X-ray diffraction (XRD)). all analysis method was based for suggesting soil potential at interval depth 0-40cm and 80-100cm such as pineapple, green beans, wheat and peppers as well as arabica coffee, cocoa and rubber. Purbalingga is composed by five layers of soil and similar soil with Baturaden area. Based on analysis soil, all soil layer can be used aspeppers, green beans and wheat or cocoa, rubber and cloves. Baturaden and Purbalingga are indentified as undeveloped soil horizons because consists of A and C horizons, find mineral olivine in several layers soil and soil colloid as amorphous. Kind of colloid was identified as amorphous (monocyrstaline silica) and crystaline (hematite and gibbsite) colloid. Mineral shaped (angled and rounded) was process of early forming mineral. Rounded mineral corresponds with cation exchange capacity (CEC), clay mineral quantity and alkaline saturation (KB)
