The development of cellular networks is very much needed so that this digital transformation program can be carried out while supporting the target of Making Indonesia 4.0. Currently, Indonesia is looking forward to the presence of 5th Generation technology, 5G, which is expected to be able to support digital transformation and Making Indonesia 4.0. 5G is seen as the Making Indonesia 4.0 masterplan main catalyst. 5G will drive a new telecommunications business model with its high throughput, latency and massive Internet of Thing (IoT) standards. 5G technology is required to on a very basic level change the role that telecommunications technology perform in community. The final project exploring solution recommendation for Telkomsel in implementing 5G Business Service in Indonesia by portrait 5G readiness in Indonesia today, benchmark 5G monetization in another country and define Telkomsel strategy to convey 5G service to the customer. The research uses qualitative approach as research methodology. The qualitative method is implemented by utilizing one on one in-depth interview with related stakeholders of the organization and industry in order to get more precise information regarding the business problem. The secondary data is utilized to examine the internal and external environment where data assortments are conducted based on article in web, textbook, journals and papers. The researcher recommends Telkomsel to become pioneer of 5G commercial in Indonesia so they can get new premium subscriber and maintain their existing customer. The researcher recommends Telkomsel to deliver Enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB) use case in its first 5G commercial launching, either with mobile use case or Fix Wireless Access use case. After that then Telkomsel can gradually shifting to 5G Ultra Reliable Low Latency Communication (URLLC) and massive Machine Type Communications (mMTC) use cases in industrial market by incubating the use cases in Long Term Evolution (LTE) network. Telkomsel need also to maintain their competitive advantage regarding the network coverage when delivering new services of 5G to industrial sector while put Service Level Agreement (SLA) as another important consideration. text |
