Description
Summary:Indonesia is a country prone to climate change according to Global Facility for Disaster Reduction with Climate Investment Funds and Climate Change Team’s report on 2011. One of its effects is a decrease in its water availability. Research on how big the effect of climate change on the components of water needs in Indonesia is needed as a consideration for adaptation and mitigation actions in the future. The method used in this research is calculation of the Thornthwaite- Mather water balance using Conformal Cubic Atmospheric Model climate projection data with the RCP 4.5 scenario for 2001-2019 as baseline and 2021-2040 as projection periods. This study shows an increase of 7 percent on temperature and 8 percent on evapotranspiration in observation and model output data for 1976- 2017. In addition, there is a rise of water balance surplus of 14 percent for the baseline (2001-2019) until the projection (2021-2040) indicating climate change in Indonesia.
