INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/53508 PT Batubara-X is a mining company engaged in the coal industry. Its core business is doing coal mining, reducing the size of coal and selling coal. The coal industry itself is a saturated industry. Often coal prices fall due to oversupply. Currently the biggest coal consumers are China and India. PT Batubara-X has just opened the Site-Y site. This new site has a very low calorific value compared to other PT Batubara-X which is already operating. With a calorific value of only around 4000kcal, this coal if sold separately will only be valued using the ICI4 index. In addition, disruption to the supply chain is possible if this product is sold separately. The purpose of this project is to see opportunities that can increase the profit of Site-Y coal as well as solutions that can make the supply chain in Site-Y more optimal. In this final project, the method used is to make a gap analysis. The strategy required for the gap analysis is obtained using external and internal analysis using the SWOT and TOWS analysis method. The data required in the study are historical prices of ICI3 and ICI4, quality of coal and operational parameters of the Site-Y coal supply chain. From the studies conducted, it was found that the blending strategy was a powerful strategy. This strategy can answer challenges in terms of increasing the opportunity margin and from the side of smooth operations and supply chain. To minimize the risk of blending that may arise, it is recommended to use a blending facility. The sensitivity of the additional costs that can still be accommodated can be seen from the sensitivity of the additional margins per ships that can be obtained. Using a tornado chart, this sensitivity is strongly influenced by the quality of the coal, the difference between ICI3 and ICI4, and the quality target of blended coal. text
