Summary: | Nowadays, the need for housing continues to increase, especially in peri urban
areas. This is due to the increasing need for housing which is not matched by the
availability of urban land due to the construction office buildings and services,
cousing development for housing to shift to peri-urban. This condition creates
various residential development, one of which is gated community. This concept
provides various type of house equipped with security infrastruktur and basic
infrastructure independently in one area. However, with the development of gated
communities, the priority of safety and comfort for consumer has begun to decrease.
Based on preliminary observations, it can be seen that some housing in Bandung
Regency is very apprhensive, especially in the gated community that provides the
type of small house. This is though to have a corellation between the type of house
and availability of the infrastructure. Therefore, the reshearcher tries to do a
deeper analysis regarding the condition of gated community infrastructure in
Bandung Regency.
This study aims to identify the type of house and the availability of infrastructure in
the gated community and to analyze the relationship between the type of house and
the availability of the infrastructure. This study uses quantitative methods using
descriptive statistical analysis and Rank Spearman correlation. The sample
consisted of 57 gated communities with a purposive sampling technique.
This study found that there is diversity of types of houses built in gated communities
in peri urban Bandung Regency, namely small type ( 21- 65 m2), medium type ( 72
-170 m2), and big type (above 270 m2). In additional, availability infsrastructure of
the gated community is divided into complete security infrastructure with 67 % and
basic infrastructure 17% of sample. This study also found that there is strong
corellation between type of hous and availability of gated community (Corellation
coef. 0,671 by SPSS Software output). The existence of this linkage can be taken as
a government to do supervision of developers who provide the types of houses small
category. Because it has the potential to have a minimum level of infrastructure
availabilities so that it can harm the residents in it. |
