The Islamic Center redesign project is located on Jl. Ahmad Yani No. 22 Bekasi City, West Java
Province, with a footprint area of approximately 4 hectares and was initiated by the Bekasi City
Government. The site is located in the middle of a commercial area which is always busy with vehicles
so that it requires attention in designing the building of worship. Apart from being a place of worship,
the Islamic Center which will be designed will also function as a forum for the activities of the Islamic
community in Bekasi City, whether socially, educationally or commercially. Based on the issue of the
function of the building and the context of the site, it resulted in the design concept of the Islamic
Center as an Oasis for Bekasi City. This concept is lifted from the function of the building as a spiritual
retreat for the Muslim community in the midst of the hustle and bustle of Bekasi City |
