Until entering the final quarter of 2020, the number of additional cases and deaths has not shown a decline, even increased significantly. This condition is very dangerous to the global economic, including Indonesia, no exception for oil and gas companies in the country. Rock and Block Indonesia (R&B) is a subsidiary oil company of Chersun Corporation. The company manages one of the concession blocks in Indonesia and considered as the largest oil producer, had produced about one third of the country's total production. R&B is also affected by this pandemic, with the condition of low oil prices and the risk of crippling operations that could cause business continuity to stop. The Bore and Wells (B&W) Department is one of the R&B departments which responsible for drilling and wells maintenance. At the beginning of the Covid19 pandemic, B&W faced challenges with an increase in the number of accidents, especially those caused by the failure of "Human Performance". Another challenge is the reduction in active field workers due to large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) and company regulations to limit travel in and out of work areas. This research is intended to find the fit for purpose solutions to maintain B&W business continuity, by keeping operations with incident free and improving operating efficiency during pandemic and the transition period towards the end of concession next year. This situation drives the needs of the B&W organization to implement Knowledge Management (KM) related to Covid19, HES and operational efficiency. KM is the competitive advantage of the company that regulates and maintains its intangible assets. The research began with analyzing the learning process in the B&W organization to assess the readiness of implementing KM. By using the KM Jann model framework and a survey of worker satisfaction with regards to the working atmosphere, information / knowledge delivery and infrastructure available during the COVID-19 pandemic, the B&W organization is considered quite strong as a "Learner Organization", but still has some gaps that must be closed so that the foundation of the KM building becomes stronger, thus KM applications is the focus to close this gap The research for developing KM application begins with the mapping process of knowledge that’s required by B&W. This mapping is focused on operational activities that occur at Rig-sites and their supports. Thus, perform a SWOT and TOWS matrix analysis to support the decision-making process for selecting KM applications/ technology by considering the existing situation and conditions. The “SharePoint” application was selected due to its security, availability, convenience, capacity and capability to provide the environment of interaction that required for knowledge transfer and transformation, based on a knowledge creation model, which known as SECI - Socialization, Externalization, Combination and Internalization. text |

Since the announcement of the first case of Covid19 in Indonesia on March 2, 2020, the number of
sufferers and deaths due to this virus has continued to increase. Until entering the final quarter of 2020,
the number of additional cases and deaths has not shown a decline, even increased significantly. This
condition is very dangerous to the global economic, including Indonesia, no exception for oil and gas
companies in the country. Rock and Block Indonesia (R&B) is a subsidiary oil company of Chersun
Corporation. The company manages one of the concession blocks in Indonesia and considered as the
largest oil producer, had produced about one third of the country's total production. R&B is also affected
by this pandemic, with the condition of low oil prices and the risk of crippling operations that could
cause business continuity to stop. The Bore and Wells (B&W) Department is one of the R&B
departments which responsible for drilling and wells maintenance. At the beginning of the Covid19
pandemic, B&W faced challenges with an increase in the number of accidents, especially those caused
by the failure of "Human Performance". Another challenge is the reduction in active field workers due
to large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) and company regulations to limit travel in and out of work areas.
This research is intended to find the fit for purpose solutions to maintain B&W business continuity, by
keeping operations with incident free and improving operating efficiency during pandemic and the
transition period towards the end of concession next year. This situation drives the needs of the B&W
organization to implement Knowledge Management (KM) related to Covid19, HES and operational
efficiency. KM is the competitive advantage of the company that regulates and maintains its intangible
assets. The research began with analyzing the learning process in the B&W organization to assess the
readiness of implementing KM. By using the KM Jann model framework and a survey of worker
satisfaction with regards to the working atmosphere, information / knowledge delivery and infrastructure
available during the COVID-19 pandemic, the B&W organization is considered quite strong as a
"Learner Organization", but still has some gaps that must be closed so that the foundation of the KM
building becomes stronger, thus KM applications is the focus to close this gap
The research for developing KM application begins with the mapping process of knowledge that’s
required by B&W. This mapping is focused on operational activities that occur at Rig-sites and their
supports. Thus, perform a SWOT and TOWS matrix analysis to support the decision-making process
for selecting KM applications/ technology by considering the existing situation and conditions. The
“SharePoint” application was selected due to its security, availability, convenience, capacity and
capability to provide the environment of interaction that required for knowledge transfer and
transformation, based on a knowledge creation model, which known as SECI - Socialization,
Externalization, Combination and Internalization.
