INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/53649 Over time, the construction industry has developed very rapidly to meet human needs for housing, facilities and infrastructure which are increasingly dynamic following the times. These developments spurred innovation in the field of structural engineering. It aims to produce high quality structural materials at an economical cost. One of the commonly used construction materials is concrete. Concrete is a building material consisting of fine aggregate, coarse aggregate and sand as a constituent material as well as water and cement as a binder. In certain areas it is sometimes very difficult to find some coarse and fine aggregates which are used as the main material in the manufacture of concrete. To solve this problem, an aggregate originating from coconut shell waste and concrete debris is used (recycled). Both the concrete samples from coconut shell aggregates and recycled products have their own characteristics. To determine the characteristics of each concrete sample, a compressive test is carried out, from which cracks will form which have certain properties. This research was conducted to determine the characteristics of the crack structure formed in each type of concrete. The characterization method was carried out by using the Micro-CT scan software. The scan results obtained are in the form of a digital image which will be analyzed from the image to obtain several parameters for the nature of the cracks that will be used in this study, namely the aperture (crack opening, calculated using the structure thickness parameter), and the connectivity density of the structure. cracks. If we look at it quantitatively, it can be said that there is a relationship between compressive strength and the nature of the cracks. The relationship between aperture and compressive strength shows that the greater the compressive strength, the smaller the aperture value. However, this only applies to samples with recycled aggregate, whereas for samples with coconut shell aggregate the greater the compressive strength, the greater the aperture value. The connectivity density relationship with compressive strength shows that the greater the compressive strength, the smaller the connectivity density value. text |
