Summary: | Abstract: The amount of water needs for the Karawang Regency continues to increase along with the increase in population every year. PDAM Tirta Tarum as the provider of the water for the Karawang Regency needs to evaluate and optimize the performance of the available Water Treatment Plants. One of the WTP owned by PDAM Tirta Tarum is the Karawang WTP which serves West Karawang, East Karawang, East Telukjambe, and Klari Districts with a design capacity of 300 L/s. Based on the results of operational and design evaluation, there are several problems found in the Karawang WTP, such as the absence of testing the quality of raw water, the absence of a sludge processor, and the demand of water that exceeds the design capacity which is around 350 L / s, so it is necessary to design an additional production water capacity. The results of the additional production water capacity design are carried out by evaluating the design of the existing Karawang WTP and estimating the demand for water until 2030. The result of the design optimization and water demand calculation shows that the discharge that can be generated by the Karawang Branch WTP is 800 L / s which can serve water demands until 2030. Optimization of the design is carried out by changing the dimensions of the existing design and increasing the number of the Karawang WTP unit, such as coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, and filtration units. egency needs to evaluate and optimize the performance of the available Water Treatment.. |
