The approach was to identify waste loading accumulated at the port, and identify activities that produce it, analyze water quality, and searching the possibility of utilizing the waste which will give positive contribution to the social-economic of the people in the villages surrounding the port. The methods applied were direct measurement of waste and fish productivity, water quality analysis, direct observation and questionnaire. The result showed that accumulated waste was produced by port activities such as mooring post, fish dismantling, fish sorting, and boat maintenance. Whereas activities of the TPI. such as fish preparation and cleaning of the place from fishes' blood and rubbish produce many solid and liquid waste such as fish body parts, blood and dirty water. Visiting people's activities were caused feces that we can find along the mooring post. The water analysis showed that the quality of existing water is very low - compared to the standard of environmental quality (Kep-02/MENKLH/I/I 988).Observation and questionnaire showed that people did not fully understand about the function of the port. which in turn resulted in little awareness and participation on the port sanitary. Also, there was no program that utilize the waste, that involve the people.
