Description
Summary:One of the advantages in physical measurement of objects is the development of a non-invasive detection system, one of which is the ultrasonic Doppler which is used to measure flow velocity by Doppler shift (Doppler effect). The Doppler effect occurs due to the difference between the emitted and received frequencies. The existence of the COVID-19 pandemic has made students unable to conduct research using Doppler ultrasonography in hospitals so this study used Doppler Ultrasonic Flow Meter Series DFX to determine the flow velocity of sugar solution using ultrasonic Doppler and the relationship of sugar concentration in the fluid to the fluid flow velocity. Because the data obtained is the volumetric flow rate, conversion is carried out into a fluid flow velocity value which is then used to calculate the Doppler frequency. The Doppler frequency from the calculation is compared with the Doppler frequency obtained from the measurement. Based on the measurement of the volumetric flow rate and the Doppler frequency, there are data fluctuations caused by the water pump not pumping at a constant force so that the pressure applied is not constant. In treatment 1, the average water flow velocity, average 10% sugar solution flow velocity, average 20% sugar solution flow velocity, and average 30% sugar solution 30% velocity have a value of 1.09±0.09 m/s, 1.04±0.03 m/s, 0.96±0.05 m/s, and 0.84±0.03 m/s. Whereas in treatment 2, the average water flow velocity, 10% sugar solution flow velocity, average 20% sugar solution flow velocity, and average 30% sugar solution 30% velocity have a value of 0.69±0.01 m/s, 0.59±0.02 m/s, 0.49±0.01 m/s, and 0.40±0.01 m/s. The angle between the emitted ultrasonic direction and the direction of the fluid flow is found to be 76.11°. The higher the sugar concentration in the solution, the smaller the flow velocity. Determination of flow velocity with different concentrations of this sugar solution can be developed for measuring blood glucose concentration.
