Summary:Color has meaning, an essential element for life. Skin color is a characteristic of someone who is identical with social and psychological experiences in society. White skin color became the standard of beauty and replaced the brown skin of Indonesian women. Through the study of skin color, the writer understands the concept of ideal white skin for beauty. For the writer, skin color is a characteristic human appearance. However, white skin cannot be the ideal standard for beauty because it is influenced by genetic and environmental factors. Asian skin color is different from Caucasians, Indonesians are different from Japanese or Chinese people, even in the same area it can be different. The most important thing is not white skin which is the ideal standard of female beauty, but to care for and maintain healthy skin so that it looks natural in beauty. In this idea, the writer is interested in the problem of interpreting beauty through awareness of skin color. Through the abstract formalist approach, the writer wants to bring the problem as an art work concept. The writer uses the concept of the world skin color scale as a method of composing visual objects, therefore the writer needs further study of skin color. And how relationships are formed when represented trough abstract art. The concept of this work will be represented through formal composition on yupo paper and alcohol ink in an abstract art style.
