The waste generated by the pulp and paper industry has several parameters that need to be monitored in order not to damage the environment. Now in Indonesia, the conventional way of monitoring the results of waste released by the industry is still carried out, namely measuring once a month by bringing a sample of wastewater from the factory to a laboratory. This conventional method lacks where in the method cannot detect deviations in wastewater parameters that occur momentarily. The Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry issued Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry No. P93 of 2018 concerning "Monitoring of the Quality of Wastewater Continuously and in Networks for Business and / or Activities". With this, it is necessary to design a monitoring tool that is real-time and connected online so that any irregularities can be detected directly. One of the parameters monitored is TSS (Total Suspended Solids), currently TSS is measured by a method that takes time and cannot be done in real time. Therefore a replacement parameter is needed to measure TSS in real time. One possible substitute is electrical conductivity. In this final project book will describe the manufacture of a TSS parameter monitoring system in wastewater from specifications and design to results and analysis of the implementation of monitoring tools. The finished tool as a result of this study succeeded in measuring the conductivity of wastewater with an average error of 0.845% and by using the linear regression method the conversion of the conductivity value to the TSS value was successfully carried out. The tool is also online and will provide measurements once an hour through an IoT platform. The tool will give a warning to the user if the measurement that occurs is not in accordance with the quality standard that has been determined, namely the quality standard according to the Regulation of the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Indonesia Number 5 of 2014. text |
