The planning of the drainage in this airport area is determined based on the return period of the rainfall. Referring to American airport regulation released by Federal Aviation Administration, the maximum (flood) discharge for the drainage system and for the river is using the 50 years and 100 years return periods, gained using the Log Pearson III method. The river’s maximum (flood) discharge is 2546.011 m3/s, obtained by the ITB-2 method. Based on the river modeling, the maximum flood water elevation is at +35.5 m. On the drainage system technical planning, the drainage is basically divided into two, which is the north and the south channel, and then there’s the apron channel. Each subcatchment covers each 40 meters on main channels and each 20 meters on apron channels. The shape used for the open drainage channel is trapezoidal, and for the closed part, which is a tunnel, is using a culvert box. As a reference in determining the channel’s dimension, the SCS CN flood discharge method is used. Then, a hydraulic simulation is done using the Autodesk® Storm and Sanitary Analysis program, to determine the water surface elevation and the maximum discharge in each channel. The storage used is a dry detention pond, each one located in the north and the south, projected to accommodate the first 3 hours of the rainfall. text
