Summary:Heritage and cultural tourism is a tourism activity to enjoy various local culture, objects and cultural heritage buildings that aim to provide cultural and historical knowledge. One of the cultural heritage tourism location in Bandung is the town square. Bandung town square is one of the favorite tourist destination which is famous for its many heritage buildings from the Dutch and Japanese colonial times. This heritage building is protected by the government and is called the cultural heritage building. Unfortunately, the majority of tourists do not know the history behind the heritage building even though the historical information provided is considered adequate. Therefore we need another method that can introduce the history of cultural heritage buildings. The implementation of Augmented Reality (AR)-based gamification apps in heritage and cultural tourism can deliver the information in a more fun way than conventional methods such as reading brochures / information boards. An application will be made that can introduce cultural heritage buildings using gamification and AR with the waterfall method. After testing 10 tourists using a Likert scale questionnaire, the application received an average score of 84% which stated that the application was very successful to be able to help tourists learn about the history of cultural heritage buildings (94%). Apart from having a positive impact on the educational aspect, this application is also considered to increase the aspects of escapism (86%) and entertainment (84%) in the tourist experience when traveling to cultural heirlooms in the cultural tourism area of the Town square.
