<b> Abstract :</b><p align="justify"> <br /> Embroidery small industry in this time is faced with various challenge due to the change in industrial environment such as the growing of technological production and market expansion. Embroidery small industry requires considerable attention because it is concerning with the economic of some societies. Appropriate development couldnot be done because the caharacteristic of embroidery small industry was not clearly identified. The characteristic can be studied by investigating condition of industrial environment and the firms business activity. <br /> <br /> Based on research that has been conducted at embroidery small industry in Bukittinggi and its surroundings, it is known that the firms do not have any resistance in obtaining resources to run its business. There are two embroidery market in the enviromnent that could be exploited to sell the products. Existence of the amenites caused this sector be able to enter by a lot of party. <br /> <br /> Embroidery small firms are different in several ways in running its business. The difference in business pattern is caused by industrial growth which could be happened by increasing scale of existing company or by entering the new company. Embroidery small firms run its business differently in order to reach more efficient by accommodate market demand with the resources at hand. The demand can be served more efficient by applying factory works, employee contractual works, or by doing subcontracting works with other companies. <br /> <br /> The type of embroidery products, which are favorable for small plans, are the manually products and the ordering products in small quantity. Embroidery small industry has a flexible job system that enable the companies to adjust the amount of products with respect to fluctuation of demand. <br /> <br />
