<b>Abstract</b><p align="justify"> <br /> Raising inter-regional competition is a phenomenon which will become a main characteristic of global economy dynamics on the 21st century. In Indonesia, inter-regional competition has been predicted to persist between autonomous regions. The preparations in facing the challenge have to begin with defining about the roles which every regions must have played based on their swa-bhawa, to avoid excessive exploitations. Meanwhile, historical notes on the developmental performance in Indonesia have shown that the agricultural sector has a resilient capability to resist and handle a very important role in the recovery process from economical crisis. By considering the strategic position of the agricultural sector, this research has proposed the zoning of agricultural comodities to answer the fundamental question in agricultural development, which are what to plant, how many, where and when to begin.<p align="justify"> <br /> <br /> <br /> To answer such fundamental question, the research has proposed three phases of land evaluation: the initial phase, focused on the goal of ecological and production sustainity, the interaction phase, focused on the goal of economical sustainity, dan the last phase of implementation and transformation, focused in planning on priority of comodity development in a certain region by considering social-cultural dan institutional aspects. The principles which will be used to evaluate the model in terms of sustainability development, are fair distribution and social equality, diversity, comprehensive and long-term perspective.<p align="justify"> <br /> <br /> <br /> To evaluate the model, the region of Kecamatan Peundeuy, Kabupaten Garet has been chosen as a region of study. The methodologies and data processing techniques which have been used are digitation technique, overlay technique, mapping technique, linear programming, analytic network process, cluster analysis, and survey methods based on participatory rural appraisal and rural rapid-appraisal.-from- the results of data-processing and_analysisjt has_ been found, that the best considered comodities to be cultivated in Kecamatan Peundeuy are corn, rice, beans, oranges, mango, robusta coffee, and tea.<p align="justify"> <br /> <br /> <br />
