Description
Summary:ABSTRACTEXPLORATION OF SPENT COFFEE GROUND MATERIAL AS A PRODUCT, CASE STUDY: POT FOR PLANTING MEDIABy:RAFI ABDURRAHMAN17516044(Study Program of Product Design)Coffee is a major commodity in the world with high economic value, and Indonesia itself is included in one of the five countries with the highest levels of production and consumption in the world. The processing of coffee from upstream to downstream produces a lot of waste and continues to increase every year. Spent Coffee Grounds (SCG) is the last form of raw waste generated in the coffee processing process. A high level of coffee consumption results in a high SCG as well. SCG itself contains residues with high levels of pollutants and is difficult to degrade, making it dangerous for the environment. Based on this, SCG began to be used as a material in several industrial industries abroad, but in Indonesia, the use of SCG is very minimal. Therefore, SCG will be used as a material to make functional products. It aims to take advantage of opportunities from SCG material as a functional product, increase the economic value of SCG material, and reduce SCG waste wasted with a Material Driven Design approach. The design focuses on experimental studies to determine the potential and utilization of SCG material
